Bedard for N. Cruz? WHIR (Serious)

Postby Midnight_Toker » Sat May 09, 2009 2:53 am

Just got proposed this in my 8 team, H2H keeper.. ..WITH 4 Utility Spots! So, basically CRUZ is an every day player for me.

His Bedard ... for my Cruz. My pitching is not as strong as I would like, and I do like Bedard .... but not sure if I can afford the loss of Nelson Cruz. Does my pitching suck that bad where I should make this move?

Too much to give up for Bedard. Your pitching will be ok.

Gallardo...has been solid
Hamels...if he can stay healthy will be solid #1
Shields...will be solid, just sit him when they are at Fenway (never pitches well there)
Nolasco...rough april, but just had his first decent outing today (should be good from here)
Wainwright...good #5 for you
Saunders...many in cafe wrote him off, but seems to get the job done and on a good team
Liriano, Duke...will have ups and downs, but capable of dominating games

With Carpenter and Escobar on DL, if one of them come back healthy you will have a very solid pitching staff. Just don't feel you should trade Cruz for Bedard. If you had a crystal ball and knew Hamilton would come back at 100% healthy, then you could do it. An injury like his could bother him all year. Stand pat your pitching is fine.

good luck

I wouldnt do this man. I agree with the first guy that you are giving up too much. Cruz is a very good player and you wont really get his full potential for him because hes not one of those big name OFs. I would hang on to him. I think your pitching will turn out fine so I would say no to this.

Thanks for my help!

By the looks of your P, I'd say you have enough to get by without Bedard. I am not AS against this trade as the above posters though, because I like Kendrick who you have benched and should improve his numbers(maybe not as much power as Cruz tho), and Bedard was a top 5-6 pitcher in 07 before his injuries last year and could be dominant all summer if healthy

Id say its a 60No/40Yes trade
