Hamilton deal

Postby wkpdpack » Fri May 08, 2009 8:52 pm

12 team keeper league (keep 7 from year to year), 5x5 roto scoring. Currently tied for 1st (BA-10th, HR-7th, RBI-6th, R-3rd, SB-5th, K-5th, ERA-1st, WHIP-1st, W-6th, S-1st)

I've been offered A. Gonzalez and Soto for Hamilton and Saltamacchia.
I think A. Gonz can have just as good a year or close to as Hamilton does. My concern is with Soto. Obviously, if he doesn't bounce back Salty will have the better year but am concerned if he slumps that Teagerdon will take playing time away from him. Since I'm concerned with Soto producing, I think I need to get a bit more in return in this deal.

I've offered my Hamilton, Salty and Fukudome for his A Gonzo, Soto and Pence/Upton which he turned down. Waiting to hear if he'll accept my offer of Hamilton, Salty and Fukudome for his A Gonzo, Soto and V. Wells. Should I also offer my Hamilton, Salty, Ad. LaRoche, Perkins for his A Gonzo, Soto, Ankiel, Jer. Weaver. I'd get a better pitcher and could put Ankiel on the DL and pick up C. Jackson, S. Hairston, Cust, J. Anderson, Byrd, or Cuddyer. Should I make this offer as well??

My team:
C Navarro, Saltamacchia
1B Howard
2B Weeks
SS Furcal
3B Blalock
MI Fontenot (S. Drew on DL)
CI Morneau
OF Braun, Kemp, Granderson, Hart, Fukudome
U Ad. LaRoche (Hamilton on DL)
P Bell, Billingsley, Greinke, Lee, Millwood, Percival, KRod, Scherzer, Uehara
Bench - Baker, Perkins, Greene
Minors - Fowler, I. Stewart, Rasmus, McCutcheon, G. Sanchez (can keep up to 5 on minor bench for next year)

His team:
C Inge, Soto
1B Huff
2B Lopez
3B Lowell
SS Zobrist
MI Hill
CI A. Gonzalez
OF Ankiel, Bourne, C. Lee, Pence, Victorino
U Votto
P Beckett, Cordero, F. Hernandez, Holland, Kershaw, Nathan, Nolasco, Weaver, Wood
Bench - C. Davis, V. Wells, J. Upton
Minors - M. Ramirez, Moustakas, Beckham, Feliz, Price

In a keeper league it's a always good to have nice balance. And you're absolutely stacked at 1b. I don't think now is the right time to trade Hamilton. He should net you more than Gonzalez and Soto wouldn't be enough incentive for me to part with him. He only has 1 good season under his belt, so there's no guarantee he'll snap out of his funk.

Can you help with mine plz? viewtopic.php?t=383900

I've got Hamilton and Salty right now. Should I deal them for Gonzo and Soto? Or should I expand the trade dealing Hamilton, Salty, and Fukudome for Gonzalez, Soto, and Pence/J Upton/Victorino?

That is solid value for Hamilton - but I don't think I would trade him in a keeper.

I countered with Hamilton/Salty/Fukudome for Gonzalez/Soto/Pence or J. Upton. Let it out there or withdraw my counter offer?

Getting JUpton in a keeper would be worth the small drop in value from Adrian to Hamilton. Upton wont keep up this hot start, but perhaps early as next year he could develop into a top 50 guy with upside for more.

agreed here, i would go with either him or Pence... both are great value for a Keeper and im not a huge Salty fan... imo Soto/Gonzo trounce Hamilton, and your left with Salty straight up for Upton or Pence winner winner chicken dinner baby..

thanks for the help on mine!

I'd trade Hamilton for A-Gonz and Soto quite easily, but if you can get J. Upton, Pence, or Victorino on the side for relatively cheap, even better.
