I'm in dead last place for Strikeouts , down there in SBs, hanging tight in many of the other categories. Currently in 2nd place.
Trade suggestions or waiver picks? I'm hoping to begin catching up once my two aces(Hamels and Lackey) return to form. Leave an idea and a link and I'll return the favor!
I'm planning on grabbing Smoltz once Lackey frees up my DL spot (I'm planning on dropping either Gonzalez or Sherrill when Lackey returns) and dropping Sanchez for when it looks imminent that Wieters is gonna get called up.
Is Wandy Rodriguez still avalible? He really shouldn't be, but if he is, he will be better than all but 2 pitchers that you mentioned. He has really improved at home, and continues to dominate at Home. He is a pretty good k/9 pitcher.
Who are some available pitchers on the wavier wire? In my opinion, you are dead last in strikeouts because you have a staff that doesnt really strike anyone out. Maholm, Weaver, Saunders, and Hamels all seem to be pitchers that induce outs more than have "filthy" stuff. Lackey coming back should help some, but even he isn't really known for overpowering anybody.
Let me know who's on the wavier wire, and I'll write back with a more in depth response.
If you need steals Pierre is probably available off the waiver wire. That's a free fifty game chunk of a speedster. Help me out if you get the chance: viewtopic.php?t=383811
Wandy is not available currently. WW has the following peeps out there: F Carmona, Zach Duke, Ricky Romero (DL), Koji Uehara, Edwin Jackson, Justin Masterson is what I see on the WW.

Any trades that people could suggest?
Hmm, that's tough. F Carmona could be an improvment, but that just depends on if he gets his act together or not. I'd say that Carmona has more K potentional than maholm, so that's something to keep any eye on as they make a few more starts.
Overall, maybe you could find someone looking for a utility guy and package one of your starters for an upgrade at starter? There's a million ways you could go, depending on who people are interested in and what you want to give up.
If I was you, I would try to trade Saunders and Maholm for an ace. Both are good for everything except K's, and other owners will appreciate them. But if you're lagging in K's, packaging one or both of those guys is the right move. I have owned both at some point this year and now I own neither, but I do have a Billingsley. Explore trade options.
as you know, I am having pitcher issues as well and I have been out of the game for a while so I'm probably not the right person to help you with your question.
However, I will put my 2 cents in since you helped me and add that first I would like to see your WW pitchers to see what your working with.
Also, just a tip on Weiters is that he is not having a great time and his STATS are stinking it up down in AAA so harness your expectations a little when he gets called up because if he cannot handle the little leaguers then how will he do in the Bigs??? (He is sitting on the WW in all 3 of my leagues.
The other opinion I can give also is that when Lackey returns I would go for dropping Sherrill just do to his demotion, however....with that being said, keep an eye of Sherrill as the next day after the news on his status he pitched a good save and there is the fact that his competition isn't all that great so just keep an eye on him and see if he returns back to form or not.
That's about the only advise that I can give but post your SP/RP WW and let's see what kind of grabs are a possibility.
Good Luck! (BTW....I posted extra questions on mine if you get a chance)!
