I found myself reaching for Victor Martinez in the 6th or 7th rounds consistently, and boy oh boy am I glad I did. Soto and Martin have struggled, and McCann and Mauer have been injured.
Who would have thought that V-Mart would prove to be the safest pick, coming off last year's horrible season.
Soto as the 8th catcher LAST year. Capps/Ianetta/Lowrie for Greinke/Fontenot on draft day this year (deep keeper) Nick Johnson and his .319 average after he burned me last year My Lind/Jones/Hart outfield in a new keeper. Took all three about 2 rounds early, but Im VERY ok with that.
Personally, I think its a bit early to be talking about this...but for the sake of the argument, I'll say I'm very pleased with what I'm getting out of Bills, Greinke, Cruz, and Hill. How they do as the season progresses will say more about the success or failure of my reaches...
