According to the Arizona Republic, the Diamondbacks are expected to fire manager Bob Melvin on Friday.
The league's Manager of the Year in 2007, Melvin has one season remaining on his contract and has gone 337-340 in parts of five seasons in Arizona after going 156-168 in Seattle. He's taken much of the blame for the Diamondbacks' disappointing start and has made his fair share of questionable playing time decisions, but Brandon Webb's injury and Chris Young, Conor Jackson and Chad Tracy all sporting an OPS under 700 are also culprits. No word yet on who'll replace him at the helm.
what type of fantasy impact will this have? there are a bunch of players not performing or injured.
of the players not producing theres really not many other playing decisions that can be changed.
