Trade Boxton/A.Jones/Reynolds 4 Manny/Delgado?

Postby jmcampbe11 » Wed May 06, 2009 8:31 pm

This trade would leave me a little think at closer, but is it worth it? For context, I'm in first place (10 team roto) and my only weak category is batting average.

GIVE - Broxton, Ad.Jones, and *Reynolds

GET - M.Ramirez and *Delgado (or De.Lee)

*Including the corner infielders in the deal is optional (my choice)

MY TEAM
C-Martin 1b-A.Gonzalez 2b-Phillips ss-Alx.Ramirez 3b-Longoria MI-J.Lopez CI-Reynolds OF-*Hamilton (LaPorta), Sizemore, Dye, V.Wells, Adm. Jones Util Crisp SP-Greinke, Gallardo, Nolasco, Lilly, R.Johnson RP-Broxton, Qualls, Percival, *Morrow, *Smoltz, *Carpenter, Ray

PS) This is a 3 player keeper league.

Not sure I follow your roster. How many OF do you start?

On face value, I like the trade, but if you only start 3 OF, would that send Dye to your bench?

Broxton will remain a Top 5 closer, too.

We start 5 OF. Manny would replace A.Jones in a my lineup...and if choose to add on De.Lee or Delgaod they would replace Reynolds at my CI slot. Make sense? DOes that change your thoughts on the trade? Think I can surive in saves without Broxton?

ehh youre gonna be a little shaky saves wise w/o broxton for now, but i'd still take the deal. i'd probably go with lee over delgado. i'm a big manny fan which probably has some influence in the deal, but you can't argue what the dodgers are doing right now which obviously benefits manram.

I;d do it. Manny is a big bat. I'd do that and get D. Lee. Manny can get you the power. Thanks

I would do it. You can scour the free agent wire for saves or potential saves.

Thanks for help on mine.

Yep, makes all the difference. I say deal Broxton and make friends with the Cafe closers thread.

I like the deal as Manny has much more insulation in that line up than Jones. I think the other points were right on efforting to replace Broxton saves via the wire. DLee is struggling hard and Hoffspauir has been called up. Delgado always seems to play his socks off in the second half so thats my humble opinion there. Broxton saves may be limited by the blowout factor for what thats worth. If you let go of Reynolds, hold your breath for Gammel to get called up and qualify the corner???
