Definitely a great player, but all those HRs this week were solo shots. Not sure if any of this is showing he belongs at #3.

That basically comes down to dumb luck. Even the worst team in baseball is going to give you more RBI chances batting 3rd than 1st.

Maybe bad luck, but the Marlins are still going to offer near-the-bottom-of-the-league RBI opportunities because the first two players in their lineup have near-the-bottom-of-the-league OBP (at least for the #1 and #2 spot).
So the question for the Marlins and for fantasy owners is not a question of speed. It's a question of some extra at bats. Last year, the leadoff spot generated on average 46 more plate appearances than the #3 spot. Personally, I'd want my best hitter to see 46 more plate appearances if the #3 spot isn't going to generate a spectacular number of RBIs.
