Trading up for pitching - 1b/SP value questions - WHIR!!

Postby diamondllama » Wed May 06, 2009 2:59 pm

Ok, so I made a blockbuster trade, but it left me with a bunch of corner infielders. I still need more pitching. For corner infield right now I have, Aubrey Huff, Mark Teixeira, Joey Votto, Evan Longoria, and Russel Branyan.

My league is 5x5 H2H, with a 1b, a 3b, a 1/3b, and a Util spot. Right now, I'm playing Teix at 1b, Longo at 3b, Branyan at corner, and Votto at Util. Huff is on the Bench.

I would really like to keep Votto, Longo, and Branyan, hopefully trading Huff and Teixeira.

My pitching is James Shields, Scott Kazmir, Brett Myers, Rich Harden, Jair Jurrjens, Justin Verlander starting. RP is Jenks, Downs, and Lindstrom.

I've targeted some teams with weaknesses at the corners. My goal is to trade one of my pitchers and one of my corner infielders for one of their pitchers. I'm going to list the pitchers I'm after, let me know which combo you think is fair for a trade.

Billingsley
Greinke
Lincecum
Broxton
Bell
Halladay
Josh Johnson
Peavy
CC Sabathia

Is this a keeper league?

I would look at trading Huff and sell high on Branyan if you can and try to get a extra SP and a better RP option

thanks for the help with mine

Hey thanks for the help with mine! Personally I don't like to give up a tremendous hitter for a pitcher so I would say to go for Josh Johnson and try to Huff.

What's Branyan worth, you think?

Not a keeper league

Shields and Branyan for Halladay > Johnson > CC > Peavy.
Id bet all the other guys you want are untouchable.

Agree with above, although I doubt Branyan is tradeable. I have been shopping him everywhere as A-Rod is coming back and I am also stacked at the corners (A-Rod, Chipper, Longoria, Branyan, Tex). I'd say deal Branyan if you can, he's hot but it won;t lat and his era has already shrank 20-30 pts.

If not, deal Huff and Shields for Halladay.

I don't know if Branyan will get you much. I would target Peavy...he seems to be undervalued due to his inconsistent start, but I think he will have a good to great year. I have Huff in several leagues and keep getting offers for him, so him plus one may get you Peavy.

Also, thanks for help on mine.

I'd try to move Branyan for a W Rodriguez type SP.

Help please
