Currently Kelly Johnson is on my bench, and it looks like the Braves are going to platoon him which kills his value. I also have Aaron Hill at 2nd and Freddy Sanchez at MI so I don't really need him. I have 2 question, 1.) is he dropable or should I wait and trade him? 2.) If I drop him who should I pickup.....Jose Guillen, Franklin Gutierrez, or Billy Butler THANKS!!!! WHIR 100%
Well man . . . I traded Kelly Johnson, Chris Davis, and Travis Snider for Frank Francisco, Kevin Kouzmanoff, and Akinori Iwamura 1 week into the season. Johnson hasn't done a lick since then. He is droppable, but still holds MINIMAL trade value. Full time, he only projects for 87-16-67-10 and .277. Since he's not one of your starters, I'd drop him for Billy Baseball. Butler's really starting to hit the ball hard and is not swinging at bad pitches anymore.
I have him on my bench to. I tried to trade him for SP but nobody wants him. 2B look like an improved postion this year with the emergence of Aaron Hill and some other guys. But traditonnaly 2B been a thin postion and Kelly Johnson had top ten value prior to the year. I still have him too and I tought about droping him a lot too since I traded for brandon Phillips. But Kelly Johnson is a streaky hitter and the day BObby Cox will stop putting him on the leadoff spot he will start to produce and then he would have his trade value back...
Ima Braves fan and I think hes not worth feeping around. 2B is too deep this year...unless he starts hitting like crazy, he's not going to be worth much. I bet you could drop/add Butler and go get KJ back in a few weeks if you decide you need him.

I'm also a Braves fan and would tend to agree here. I also don't think you have to worry about Kelly getting snatched up, even in a league with a MI spot, given that he's being platooned at the moment. Unless you have a deep bench, he's droppable. Butler is a decent grab.
I would drop him. I drafted him and dropped him about 2 weeks ago. He has now value especially with other 2b options coming out of nowhere. I would probably look to pick up Guillen. He seems healthy and has been hitting real well since coming back!
3rd Braves fan here that is going to recommend dropping Kelly Johnson, he is not doing much of anything right now and his PT is diminishing. Is that the best there is on the waiver wire? I can't decide who you should pick up, Butler is playing well and Guillen is solid, I guess one of the two.
Hey everyone, thanks for the all the advice!! I am in a really deep 12 team league and there is not much talent available on the WW. My 2 favorites are Jose Guillen and Butler, I wish the Braves would just come out and say exactly they are going to handle the situation with Johnson, drop him in the order, platoon etc. In my league we also had a 3 round minor league draft and I was thinking about dealing Johnson for Austin Jackson haha.
I had KJ and tried to trade him (no interest at all) and dropped him and no one has picked him up. I definitely like Guillen, so that would be a good move.
