I'm loaded on young pitching with guys like Greinke, Billingsley, Felix Hernandez, Soria, etc.....My position players are solid for the most part with:
C - R. Martin, Napoli 1B - Pujols 2B - F. Sanchez 3B - D. Wright SS - Tulo
But my OF is weak....someone offered me Beltran for Billingsley. THoughts? I generally value an everyday player more than a pitcher (especially a hitter of that caliber). However, Billingsley is younger and a dominant pitcher for several years to come...Beltran is 32 and how many years will I get out of him?
My current crop of outfielders: Hart, Taveras, Crisp, Magglio, Schafer, and Kendry Morales qualifies at 1B and OF. Also have McCutchen for the future.
Should I make a deal or hold out for guys like Maggs to heat up????

Well I'm not necessarily focusing on this year...but I WOULD like to win! However, not at the cost of screwing up the long term prospects of this team. I figure Beltran probably has a few more years left, although his steals will probably start to drop off.
If you think like that, then I really see this as an upgrade for your team. With your pitching you can afford to replace him with a lesser pitcher. Can a hot pitcher carry your pitching staff? to a small degree. Can a hot batter carry your offense. Yes.
