Pitching Help? WHIR

Postby bcbhockey68 » Tue May 05, 2009 10:30 pm

I'm really starting to worry about my pitching staff, I mean I thought it would be fine with Oswalt and Vasquez to anchor it and some stud like Volquez or Cliff Lee would pop up on the ww later in the season, but I'm not so sure I will last that long with the guys I have. I don't really want to deal Pedroia or Grandy because I'm trying to get Sizemore with those guys, but if that falls through then I'd be happy to deal those guys for some quality SP. Just let me know your thoughts, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

P.S. I currently have a deal for Rollins for Posada, Cordero, and Jeter but I am almost positive that it will get vetoed besause some guy is making a real big fuss because a fairer trade of me and him got vetoed earlier this season.

I would hang on to Granderson and Pedroia. Zimmerman is your best bargaining chip right now, and I would package him with Oswalt (who looks to be on the downside this year but still will get you value with the name) and see if you can land a stud.

Could I get Chad Billingsley for Oswalt and Zimmy or Zimmy for Gallardo or Cain?

I would bet you could get Cain easily. Oswalt and Zimmy might be a longshot for Bills with the way he has been playing. I think Zimmerman for Gallardo seems about equal. Both are pretty hot right now and I think you win, so might as well throw it out there to the other owner!

Out of those I'd shoot for Matt Cain. He should be solid, and you should have no trouble brokering that trade.
