Which SS is the best option?

Postby WSU Tony » Tue May 05, 2009 9:06 pm

I currently have Orlando Cabrera as my starter but I found Stephen Drew on the WW and picked him up. That being said, what do you think I should do about my SS situation? How do you think Drew will do when he comes back? Should I pick up someone other than Cabrera in the mean time? My team really suffers in Runs and SB.

Here are some options. (Remember, I have Cabrera until Drew comes off the DL)

Aviles
Greene
Renteria
Guzman
Barmes
Izturis
Callaspo
Bloomquist
Zobrist
Infante

Is their a minor leaguer which should be pulled up that I can pick as an insurance plan in case Drew doesn't play well?

Bump.

If Hanley or another top 5 short stop isn't in the discussion you guys don't know anything all of a sudden? O:-) I need some help, guys!

Stick with Cabrera until you get Drew. I might consider Guzman, but the difference won't be significant. Be patient with Drew!

I really like callaspo. He is improving everyday and is worthy of a pickup. My fallback would be guzman.

There's your reason why. After the top-5, SS is pretty much a clump of the same guys. I think I'd take Guzman, but Drew's only a week away. Cabrera may be your best source of SBs. Oh, and I have Drew as well, and Aviles is my starter until he's back.
