How do you prefer to use bench spots?

I like more pitching. There is usually some guys that you can stash that will have a solid impact, pitchers can go on streaks. Multi position palyers are great for insurance on the bench as well.

I'm also of the heavy on pitcher mindset. I'm in a 16-team league and the pool of available starters is just not attractive, so I have gotten 2 solid relievers for my bench in my H2H league that allows daily changes.

Francisco Rodriguez – RP (Ana.)
Aquilino Lopez - RP (Tor.)

Lopez also could close in Toronto. ;-D

I don't know how I'll use my other two bench spots. Probably two hitters and another pitcher.

A couple of pitchers that could be used in spot starts and a couple of bats for insurance. :-)

What is your strategy?[/quote]

I will usually grab two multi position guys like desi relaford & brad wilkerson to cover all my offensive starters when they have a day off. Then I will stack up with some high upside starting pitching to rotate in and out.

It usually works out nicely.

I like to go with a few pitchers that I can rotate in to start. I also like to pick up a few hitters that I think will do well or are doing well and use them as trade bait. :-)

I like an even bench - I have 6 bench spots, I'm split 3-3

Actually, I have 3 bench spots and I fill it with my starting rotation. I'll have a bunch of LIMA type middle relievers in the active lineup all the time and rotate in my starters when they're up. I can do this because we don't have SP/RP designation. It's all just pitchers. I also have daily transactions. I have no hitters on my bench ideally.
