How do you prefer to use bench spots?

Postby whefner » Sat Mar 13, 2004 9:40 pm

Do you prefer to use more of your bench spots on pitching (starters or closers) or on offensive players or split evenly.

I have been working with a 5 player bench and usually getting a solid pitching staff and then using one or two bench on pitching and the rest on offense.

What is your strategy?

I like an even bench - I have 6 bench spots, I'm split 3-3

Depends (undergarments) I like to have a starter on the bench in case he gets hot, and a few bats on the bench to back up question marks in my line-up

I like to have more pitchers on my bench, usually starters so I can rotate them in.

I agree with DK and on offense I like to have versatility. A speed guy and a power guy. That way in HTH I can use whichever I need for that week's opponent.

I go multi-postion player..and try to keep it to two players. The rest of the bench spots I fill with pitchers. Usually a 2-3 split

I like to have a couple SP's on the bench, unless I'm weak on offese, or have a couple injury prone hitters
