Nolan Ryan Prior (such a fluid delivery) Lincecum (very whippy) Liriano (very violent) King Felix
The fact they made them into gifs really helps you appreciate the differences. Look at the violence of Liarano's delivery compared to the other guys.
"I do not think baseball of today is any better than it was 30 years ago... I still think Radbourne is the greatest of the pitchers." John Sullivan 1914-Old athletes never change.
Look at how far Lince steps in comparison to his height! I think I read that he has the longest stride in baseball, even longer than the tall guys like Rauch and the Big Unit. Lince doesn't just push off, he literally jumps off.
Rocinante2: you know Rocinante2: its easy to dismiss the orioles as a bad team ofanrex: go on Rocinante2: i'm done Rocinante2: lmao
Another thing to notice about Lincecum is the push he gets with his back leg. He actually leaps forward a good 2 feet. I always wished RJ would have done that, instead he just kinda falls over.
EDIT: Neato beat me to it, I got caught in the middle of post and had to do work.
I ain't askin' nobody for nothin, If I can't get it on my own. - Charlie Daniels
How about Halladay or Santana? They've been the 2 most consistant pitchers the past 5-6 years. Doc has that mini-Nomo type turn his back to the hitter to crank up the toruqe then drive toward the plate.
Greinke is another one with the hip turn I think.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!
