I personally have never drafted Bengie. But, you could do far worse at catcher in a standard 5x5 league.
Last year stats for Bengie...
16 HR tied for 6th among all catchers.
95 RBI 1st place among all catchers.
.292 BA 2nd place among all catchers with at least 500 AB
46 Runs his weak spot, but only 7 catchers scored more than 8 runs above what Bengie scored.
Catchers typically don't score many runs, with few exceptions. So I don't think it detracts from his value as much as most people think.
Like I said, I have never drafted Bengie. Just felt a need to stick up for him. He is a former Angel and as an Angel fan am happy to see him doing well. I own the guy hitting in front of him.
