Barry Zito Reborn?

Don't look now, but Barry Zito is looking pretty good lately - 3 straight QS, two of which were 7 inning shutouts. Granted, the wins and K's aren't there right now, but he's looking like a different pitcher than what he was over the past few seasons. I think he's made some changes to his mechanics, and now we're seeing some positive early returns.

What are the chances Zito can find his form from his Oakland A's days? Is this just a flash in the pan?

I'm wondering if maybe he just hated Molina catching when he pitched.

his BABIP shows that he's been somewhat lucky and will likely regress in regards to hits given up. there are some bright spots in that his control seems to be much better recently and he's actually throwing strikes. he also added a couple mph on his fastball from last year and while he still doesn't throw that hard, the added difference in speed between his fastball and change up definitely help to keep hitters off balance. I'm not hoping for much more than average 4th starter numbers at this point, anything more than that i'd be pretty happy.

Personally I'm not buying. He could be a servicable starter in real-life, as a fantasy player he'll most likely be a spot starter at best.
