Quentin/Javy Vaz for Braun/Beckett?...WHIR

Postby rockchalk » Tue May 05, 2009 12:41 pm

I am in a 24 team HTH full keeper league with very deep rosters. Every actual starting pitcher in baseball is on a roster that's how deep it goes.

I have a very good team, but am always looking to get better. My roster is:

C - B. Molina
1B - Morneau
2B - B. Roberts
SS - K. Greene
OF - Beltran, Braun, Pence
DH - Headley or C. Young
SP - Beckett, Garza, Richmond, Verlander and Shields
RP - Lidge
Res/DL - B. Anderson, B. Giles, Jeff Baker, Martis, A. Reyes, Madson, Villaneuva, Lackey, Lowry, K. Escobar, Smoltz

I have been offered Quentin/Javy V for Braun/Beckett.

I have Lackey, Escobar and Smoltz hopefully coming back soon.

To me the bats are a wash, so my real question is, will Beckett find his stride and/or can Vazquez keep it up now that he's back in the NL?

A secondary question would be my weakest spot is SS with K. Greene as my starter. The same owner has Rollins. Would you do the deal if I could get Rollins back for Greene included?

Thanks in advance and as WHIR.

Cheers.

I'd rather have Braun and Beckett, easily.

I don't think Braun and Quentin are a wash, and I think Beckett is better than Vasquez, so I see no reason to do this. For a 24 team league, your team is great. If you are going to trade them, I'd look to get Rollins and 1-2 elite closers in it, to firm up your win in most pitching cats (though i'm not often in favor of trading for closers)

Help with mine?

much rather keep what you have, as you have the better SP and OF, but the differences are close enough that if you can swing the deal to add the SS i would do it then

help please
