I'm worried about the rain. If they do in fact start the game it could get delayed and he may have a short outing. Sitting him for this reason makes it easier not to deal with worrying about the Red Sox.

I'm only basing this on weather.com, which calls for 100% chance of rain in NY. No idea what it's really like in the Bronx.
