I have two open roster positions and need starting pitching. Which two guys should I pick up?
Edwin Jackson - Not convinced he's the real deal.
Kevin Slowey - Serviceable, but I'm not sure why anyone thinks he's better than average.
Chris Young - Sometimes dominant, other times pitiful.
Clayton Kershaw - Nice K's, but prone to total meltdown.

I would take Jackson and Slowey. Jackson was pretty highly touted for years and he never lived up to the hype, well this year I think he finally is. Slowey is a really solid pitcher with great stuff, if he can limit the longball he will have a breakout season as well. Chris Young is way too inconsistent, plus he is on a horrible team who can't score runs. Kershaw is going to be a great pitcher, but I doubt it will be this season. He will jackup your ERA and whip and like Young he is very inconsistent.

Chris Young - Check out his home/away splits for his career.

Should tell you when to start him or sit him unless its a good match up away.
Clayton Kershaw - You said it, nice K's. Meltdowns? The kid is 21. Enough said. He has a lot of maturing to do over the season and I see the roller coaster leveling out as the season progresses.
