Everybody is benchable.

If you look hard enough there is ALWAYS someone out there for a short-term spin while your mainstay figures out their problems.

Roster management people! :-b

They can't kill you from your bench.

You can't drop half your team when they suck, when you need to make room on your roster who do you drop

Dear Grounded Polo,

Sorry for trying to save millions of dollars, your majesty. We'll try to remember that people have fake teams next time we have an awesome player in the minors and check fantasy baseball message boards for when we should bring them up.

I'm sure you have our best interests at heart.

Love from

Orioles Management

Actually, they can. If they're on the bench, it means that they aren't putting up the elite numbers that you drafted them for, for whatever reason.

Benching Teixeira (as an example, even though he isn't an April guy) and having a replacement produce a fraction of his capable numbers hurts the team in that it's not living up to the standards that Teix could put up...you might as well just leave him in the lineup every day.

An absence of production and necessitating a fill-in in the hopes of providing a fraction of that production hurts your team, period. Those guys aren't going to perform to the levels of your studs. I don't own A-Rod, but if I did, i'd be hard pressed to believe that he wasn't "hurting" me on the bench/DL, cause those owners could make a great case of being higher in their standings if A-Rod were healthy.

TL;DR: a lack of production from your studs, whether on the bench or not, hurts your team.

Like it really matters to save Wieters from bolting to New York or Boston a year early when they won't ever make the playoffs now that Tampa Bay is also good anyway.

yea the point of this thread is you have good guys that obviously you will not drop but at the same time you can't bench. i'm not about to bench mark teix and drop someone else on my team with value for the likes of kendry morales or mark teahen:(

I know patience. I do. I know Holliday will put up decent numbers by seasons end, but he is KILLING ME. Next time I draft Chuck Norris.
I gruntle the disgruntled.
