Everybody is benchable.
If you look hard enough there is ALWAYS someone out there for a short-term spin while your mainstay figures out their problems.
Roster management people!

does DROP mean BENCH Down Under

Who is killing your team but you can't drop them???
They can't kill you from your bench.
Actually, they can. If they're on the bench, it means that they aren't putting up the elite numbers that you drafted them for, for whatever reason.
Benching Teixeira (as an example, even though he isn't an April guy) and having a replacement produce a fraction of his capable numbers hurts the team in that it's not living up to the standards that Teix could put up...you might as well just leave him in the lineup every day.
An absence of production and necessitating a fill-in in the hopes of providing a fraction of that production hurts your team, period. Those guys aren't going to perform to the levels of your studs. I don't own A-Rod, but if I did, i'd be hard pressed to believe that he wasn't "hurting" me on the bench/DL, cause those owners could make a great case of being higher in their standings if A-Rod were healthy.
TL;DR: a lack of production from your studs, whether on the bench or not, hurts your team.
