i'm not sure why this was vetoed first off. ortiz could be due or he could be done, and we all saw fukudome last year, so giving them for upton seems ok to me. if this is a keeper league i could see a bit of hesitation but if kosuke keeps it up for a full year, you may wind up actually losing out on this deal (i'd do it anyway because i doubt he can keep it up). looks like you could use another reliever more than upton, really, but i don't see this being vetoable and i see a big potential upside for both sides.
