Postby philaphan » Sun May 03, 2009 8:58 pm

I was sent this offer:
MY:Berkman/Atkins/Ortiz

His: Howard/Inge/Hart

It seems good. But my only concern is with Inge. Is he for real or will he start to come down soon. Atkins has been struggling and Ortiz has been dreadful. Are Hart & Inge better than Ortiz/Atkins?

I'd do it in a heartbeat. Howard is extremely superior to Berkman, and overall I'd say Inge andd Hart are better than Atkins & Ortiz. I'm not sure Ortiz really has it anymore, if its the wrist or his weight or he just misses manny in the lineup. Inge will come down a little bit but I think he'll still put up solid numbers and he's extremely hot right now.

Help please?

I think the two guys above me are a little off. Howard is not way better than Berkman. Berkman actually had a much better overall year than Howard last year. Howard will hit more HRs of course, but his average really can hurt. The wildcard is whether or not Berkman is hurt. I think Ortiz is going to struggle this year, not a big fan of his. I think Atkins will be fine. Inge is playing way over his head and will crash back down, but I do like Hart. Very even trade to me, and I'd go w/ your gut.

Thanks for the input on mine.

I would stick with what you have. I think Berkman will come around and when he does his power, avg. and SB potential will trump anything Howard will give you. I also think Hart is sort of overvalued. Please help me out.

I'd do it. Can Inge continue to hit for power? Sure, he's done it in the past. Will he hit above .250? Probably not. I still say the trade's worth making just to dump Big Papi and to a lesser extent Atkins, who I don't like either. After it goes through I would try to shop Posada or Inge for an OF. If it's a ten team league someone must need an upgrade at catcher and should bite.

Stay put. Inge won't produce like this all season. It's tempting mostly because of Hart but I think Ortiz will turn it around..

I like it actually

Howard > Berkman (imo for this year and beyond)
If Inge has C/3B then that increases his value even more as he plays daily plus he Adkins is overated and when traded his value decreases plus Inge can be plugged in for Posada when needed.
Hart > Ortiz even if Ortiz can turn things around Hart will do much more for you and you are good in Hr's anyways
