Fowler / Murphy / J Upton

Postby hscsoph » Sat May 02, 2009 8:21 pm

Who has the better remainder of the year, I am leaning towards Murphy but Upton is heating up and has a lot more potential. Thanks for your help. The reason I ask is I have Fowler and Upton and Murphy are on the WW.

I would go Upton. Murphy will lose AB's due to shoddy defense and Fowler is at least a season away from greatness.

Please help with mine...viewtopic.php?t=382489

I have this exact question as well! Would appreciate more feedback. Right now I'm leaning towards Keeping Fowler and Upton, and releasing Murphy, but I love Murphy's bat, and the fact that he hits in the 2 spot. How would you rank these 3 guys?

On pure talent and for keeper purposes, I would rank them:
1. Upton
2. Fowler
3. Murphy

Based on their teams/lineups this year and for redraft purposes, I would rank them:
1. Upton
2. Murphy
3. Fowler

I say Upton as well. Justin is the one with the most opportunity for AB in my opinion.
Except If you are lacking in steals I don't need to tell you who you should pick up. (hint: rythms with Ka-Prowler)

-Murphy cant field and fowler cant hit, both are good reasons to believe that Justin-Up-town-Upton will be the biggest producer this year.

Thanks , WHIR

So if you had to pick 2 of the 3, which 2 would you take? I'm leaning towards Upton and Murphy.

It all depends on how your team needs. Deffinently Upton, (possible 30-30 in a few years) then I would take Fowler simply because he has potentional of stealing more bags than my room mate in college and he never paid for weed. X-I jk

seriously though Murphy has a nice bat but it just scares me how bad in the field he is. For some reason I can see him getting sent down again to work on his glove. (just my own paranoid opinion)

can you help please? whir

Keep in mind, this is redraft, so all that matters is this year.

Murphys 08 and minor ststs. He never has had this much power, ( which makes me think it's not going to last.)

on the other hand I bet Fowler dosen't get 70 steals this year , like he did the first year in minors he saw regular at bats. But I can see 45-50 if he can keep his walks up and get on base.

So if it were me I would take that domination in a lone category over 'decent in a most'.
Like Dunn. 40 HR's almost gauranteed to go with a def. gauanteed .235 BA.
Those bags are very valuable in my opinion. If his average starts to fall grab a guzman or someone who can balance his weak BA and OPS. But this guy Fowler could steal more bags than most teams put together. Just saying
