my offense is middling i mean i could list the whole team but let's just say i'm in the middle of the pack with a scrappy offense that's literally smack dab in the middle of runs, hr, rbi, steals, and average, and some above average pitching has left me two points out of first.
looking ahead, do you think i'd get more offensive oomph out of justin upton or nelson cruz?!@
i've got nelson cruz, who has slowed down a bit as of the last week or so, but is basically on pace to recreate his #s from last season (sans average)
upton has finally been what people thought he'd be lately, and yahoo shows him as 48% owned in their elagues... i got him in my 3 publeagues, but in this main one with friends one d00d has been sitting on him since the draft and has been playing him, and he's made a play for nelson cruz in a trade he proposed earlier but pulled off within 20 minutes (he had wandy rodriguez in there, who looks more and more like "the real deal")
so should i use his cruz love against him to nab upton, or do you stay with cruz!?@
i'll answer yours... link to it that'll make it easier
i would say cruz. he's going to give you much better hr and rbi numbers. he is also in a much more potent lineup that will only get better with hamilton coming back.
I think it's really really close, but I must say I'm very intrigued by Upton's upside. In my opinion, Cruz is overperforming right now. To me, he's a .260/30/85 guy, which is nice, but I think Upton can contribute more across the board. With that said, both players are streaky and fairly hard to get a read on given their lack of track records. But my gut says UPTON despite the fact that Cruz probably still has more trade value right now.
I think Cruz has the better year. Upton is very streaky. So, while he's not this year...he won't keep it up. I think it takes him one more year. Keeper league I'd probably consider it, but not in a redraft.
