Need Pitching Help

Postby Padres Fan » Sat May 02, 2009 12:57 am

I am in a 10 team H2H league currently 3rd place. My Offense is hot, but I am struggling with my starting pitching(which i thought was stellar at the beginning of the season lol).

I am looking to trade Dexter Fowler and Orlando Hudson for 2 pitchers, and found these 3 teams that have the extra pitchers and may look at trading. I want 2 pitchers what 2 from each is my best options?

Team One-Billingsley/Beckett/Arroyo/J.Johnson/Zambrano/Hamels (Felipe Lopez is 2B)

Team Two-Bedard/Burnett/Halladay/J.Santana/Volquez/Sabathia/Kershaw/Peavy/Shields (Mark DeRosa is his 2B, Has Decent Outfield Speed)

Team Three-King Felix/Dice K/Bannister/Kazmir/Myers/Nolasco (Pedroia is 2B, No Speedster)

My Team
C-Russell Martin
1B-Miguel Cabrera
2B-Orlando Hudson
3B-Mike Lowell
SS-Jason Bartlett
OF-Ryan Braun
OF-Jacoby Ellsbury
OF-Hunter Pence
UTIL-Ian Kinsler

BN-Matt Wieters
BN-Dexter Fowler
BN-Troy Tulowitzki
BN-Adam Lind

P-Zack Greinke
P-Francisco Liriano
P-Paul Maholm
P-Roy Oswalt
P-Brandon Webb
RP-Frank Francisco
RP-Jonathan Papelbon

This is probably a low ball offer but I would try Fowler for Nolasco (slow start buy low but I think he will pick it up). Thanks for the help on mine.

That's a tough one. Most of the pitchers you listed are pretty quality, and I'm not too high on Hudson or Fowler, at least in relative terms to many of the pitchers you listed. I don't see Team 3 needing a 2B w/ Pedroia there, speed or no speed.

I'd think about doing the ol' 2 for 1, and maybe target Team 1 (weakest current 2B in Lopez). Maybe start by going after J. Johnson, and then try to compromise on Zambrano? I can't see getting Hamels, Billingsley, or Beckett for those guys.
