I think your pitching will be fine. Lackey coming back in a couple of weeks, Verlander showing signs of becoming what you expected. So, I wouldn't worry too much about pitching.

As for offense, you need more power in the OF, and a stronger 3B. You have two studs at 1B, so perhaps you can improve your 3B and OF power positions via trades using one of your 1B. Personally, I'd keep Cabrera first, as he will have a better avg than Howard.

The Artful Dodger wrote:It looks like you'll have to improve your pitching a bit. A core of Sabathia, Verlander, Meche, and Wandy is decent (and once you get him back, Lackey) and you're getting hit hard by a few sluggish starts from Dempster and Sonny. You could use a third closer even if you have two top ones on board. I think long-term, you might need another power bat to complement Howard, M-Cab, and Uggla.

The moves I'd make off of FA/WW would be to drop Sonnanstine for Maine or Hawkins. Posada still has some meaningful value to be added or to be dealt and so, you'd probably have to dump Galarraga for him.

I understand your points, but if I dropped Galarragga for Posada then
(a) Posada would sit on my bench since I don't have anywhere to play him
(b) More importantly, Galarragga is pitching really well this year and especially with Sonnanstine and Dempster struggling, I need his arm

Another thing that's hurting me is that BENGIE MOLINA has scored more runs thus far then JOSE REYES. Go figure...

If I were to drop a pitcher for Hawkins, it would sooner be Randy Wolf over Andy Sonnanstine, although Sonnanstine has a tough start against the Yankees next week so I don't know

Thanks for your help, any other suggestions?
