Inge for Holliday? - WHIR

Postby oxhammer » Fri May 01, 2009 9:13 pm

Now that Mauer is back, I've got to adjust my roster somehow. Inge has had a hot start, but I doubt he'll keep this up all year. So, I've been thinking about selling high on him. I was thinking of Inge for Holliday, since Holliday is off to a slow start. I can't imagine Inge having better numbers than Holliday at the end of the year. The team that has Holliday is pretty stacked at OF and in need of a catcher, so I think I could pull this off. What do you guys think? Do you see options for better ways to improve my team?

Twelve Team, Standard 5x5 Roto, No Keepers

My team:
C - Brandon Inge
1B - Lance Berkman
2B - Brandon Phillips
SS - J.J. Hardy
3B - David Wright
OF - Matt Kemp
OF - Coco Crisp
OF - Dexter Fowler
DH - Orlando Hudson
BN - Asdrubal Cabrera (2B), Joe Mauer (C)

SP - Jake Peavy, Chad Billingsley, Erik Bedard, Jon Lester, Félix Hernández, John Maine
RP - Joe Nathan, Mike González, Chad Qualls, Jason Motte
DL - Justin Duchscherer

His team:
C - A.J. Pierzynski
1B - Paul Konerko
2B - Kelly Johnson
SS - Troy Tulowitzki
3B - Garrett Atkins
OF - Ryan Braun
OF - Alfonso Soriano
OF - Matt Holliday
DH - Álex Ríos
BN - Justin Morneau (1B), Miguel Tejada (SS), Rick Ankiel (OF), Adam Jones (OF)
DL - Troy Glaus (3B)

SP - Carlos Zambrano, Brett Myers, John Danks, Clayton Kershaw, John Lackey
RP - Jonathan Broxton, Fernando Rodney

If he will go for it then you have to do it in a heartbeat. Holliday is worth way more than Inge.

I'm all for selling high, but Inge for Holliday is just crazy talk. Find and owner who needs a catcher and offer him Inge for a more realistic player. Maybe someone like Pence?

Give it a try, but I don't see great things for Holliday this year. He'll be hard pressed to put up is "typical" numbers in oakland. Coors field pumps up most hitters numbers.

If you can get Holliday for Inge, it's like highway robbery.
