Need to Trade a Leadoff guy for a Production Guy- WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Fri May 01, 2009 8:34 pm

I have 6 guys who are either leadoff or number 2 hitters ... great for R, singles, stolen bases, etc. ... but I could use more RBI. Who would make the most sense to deal for a hr/rbi guy? Make sense to target a Morneau or Dye or Bay or Teixeira?

It may take some time, but look at the rosters of other teams in your league and look for the guy(s) who has a lot of power and try to make a swap. I know in my league SB are hard to get and, IMO, power is easier to find so guys will be willing to trade with you thinking they can find HR/RBI on the WW.
Dont undervalue SB and R...they count too!!
Dye would be cheapest, then MOrneau, then Bay, then Tex.

I would say trade Curtis Granderson if you want more power #'s...you should be able to get Bay straight up for him (if the other teams needs a guy like Granderson). If not Bay try for Morneau straight up or package Granderson w/someone for Texeira (buy low guy right now).

I like your team though and I'm not sure I'd do anything with it....By your pitchers you must be a Twins fan.

I think I would package Granderson with a starter...maybe Slowey or Lilly for Bay or Morneau. Or try Granderson and Liriano for Teix...he will putup numbers for sure, just wait.

please help

Thanks,

Strangely, I am not a Twins fan, per se. I just have come into owning Twins pitchers through trades. I recently traded Peavy and Lind for Soriano and Slowey... hopefully it turns out ok.

Should I not really sweat the HR/RBI as much given this is a 9x9 league? If one guy is annoying m a lot, it is Rollins, but I feel his position warrants some extra patience on my part.
