Need help with counter offer for Howard

Postby Crazed98 » Fri May 01, 2009 8:21 pm

I wanted Howard (he has Howard on bench with Gonzalez at 1B and Pena at U)and told him I would give up Sandoval (Ianetta is his current catcher) and Morrow(he is weak in saves) and Myers and Dice-K are on the table. Ths is what he offered me:

He gives me:
R. Howard(Phi-1B)
B. Ziegler(Oak-RP)
J. Weaver(LAA-SP)
A. Lind(Tor-LF,DH)

I give him:
P. Sandoval(SF -1B,3B,C)
J. Bay(Bos-LF)
D. Matsuzaka(Bos-SP)
B. Morrow(Sea-RP,SP)

I like this trade except giving up Bay. I am desperatly in need of HRs and RBIs what should I counter with?

My Team
C J. Posada (NYY-C,DH)
1B C. Davis (Tex-3B,1B)
2B R. Cano (NYY-2B)
3B D. Wright (NYM-3B)
SS J. Reyes (NYM-SS)
OF D. Murphy (NYM-3B, LF)
OF H. Pence (Hou-RF)
OF J. Bay (Bos-LF)
U N. Cruz(Tex-RF)
BN P. Sandoval (SF -C,1B,3B)
BN M. Weiters (Bal-C)
DL X. Nady (NYY-RF,LF)

Pitchers
SP P. Mahlom(Pit-SP)
SP J. Santana (NYM-SP)
SP J. Chamberlain (NYY-SP,RP)
RP M. Rivera (NYY-RP)
RP F. Fransisco(Tex-RP)
P H. Bell (SD-RP)
P B. Morrow(Sea -RP)
BN K. Slowey(Min-SP)
DL D. Matsuzaka (Bos-SP)

The way this trade is right now, I dont think it makes you better overall. You get a "name"1B, but lose pop in your lineup overall. See if you can get Howard for Sando, Morrow, and Cruz.

Howard is a top 15 player. If you want him, you're going to have to pay the price. If I owned him Wright or Bay would HAVE to be in the trade for to even consider it. If you want to feel him out and counter sub either Maholm or Slowey in for Dice-K. Or ask for a better SP then Weaver. For waht it's worth I hate Dice-K this season. No chance he repeats last year's stats. He walks way too many batters to have an era that low again.

Can you return the favor plz? viewtopic.php?t=382289

Yea I may consider Cruz but I sure would like to keep his bat with that Texas lineup. Maybe giving him Nady and not and not taking Lind may work I think he has a few extra DL spots.
