Max Scherzer. The New Matt Cain?

Postby flloyd » Fri May 01, 2009 6:05 pm

Scherzer is just another reason why I hate leagues that count wins and losses. He's now gone 76 innings of pitching with a 3.17 ERA and has an 0-6 record to show for it. At least with Cain you could kind of blame it on the fact that he pitched in a very pitcher friendly park (thus making him look better than he is) but Scherzer is doing this in a good hitter's park so it's doubly hurtful.

Come on Arizona, give him some run support.

Arizona doesn't score many runs period it seems, 4th lowest total in the NL. See Dan Haren. First 4 starts 1 run of support total. He has an ERA well below 2 and is only 2-3 at this point. It's not just Max.
