Trade for Chipper whir

Postby cdawg4343 » Fri May 01, 2009 10:34 am

14team 5x5 H2H League. An owner in our league put Chipper and Prince on the block for infield or starter help. I offered Masterson and Weeks for Chipper and he said that wouldn't be an upgrade for him, so what else could I do. I'm strong in pitching but need another solid closer.
My team:
c. Soto
1b. Howard
2b. Phillips
3b. Reynolds
ss. Jeter
lf. Holliday
rf. Markakis
cf. McClouth
utl. Bruce
b. Weeks,
sp. Sabathia, Peavy, Billingsley, King Felix, Dice-k, Ubaldo, Masterson, Sanchez, Hill,
rp. Rivera, Corpas, Zumaya, Tavarez, Hawkins, Madson, Beimel

His team:
c. Ramon Hernandez
1b. Prince
2b. Johnson
3b. Chipper
ss. Furcal
lf. Quentin
cf. Sizemore
rf. Dukes
utl. BJ Upton
b. Zimmerman, Schafer, Fowler
sp. Snell, Zimmermann, Meyers, C.Young, Shields, Marshall, Lackey, McGowen, Bonderman, Maholm, Baker
rp. Fuentes, Francisco, Ray

Do I make a move for chipper or stay put?

Hey there, I don't think you need another closer, in a 14 team league I am suprised you managed to get 2 solid closers like Francisco and Fuentes. I would look to deal either Brandon Phillips or Weeks along with Holliday for an upgrade(s) in your outfield and infield.

He has Francisco and Fuentes. I have Rivera and the replacements as my closers.

Offer Peavy, Bruce, and Masterson and get Chipper and Prince. Or go after one of his closers.

Honestly I am not a Chipper guy, I like for my hotcorner to give me more than 100 games a season. I like Reynolds

Francisco: is that K-Rod or Coco?

If it is K-Rod, do Weeks for him straight, he is desperate with Kelly at 2nd.
