#1 WP - Chris Young (SP)? (WHIR)

Postby drunkmonkey » Fri May 01, 2009 9:23 am

Young was just dropped after his 2nd bad outing. Is this the time to use my #1 waiver priority? Or do I save it? (Iannetta was dropped too, so if I use one on Young, I'll probably put one out for him too.)

I don't think it is time to burn your #1 priority. How many teams in your league? There is a chance both make it past waivers. Oyyy.....I saw you have Matt Holliday too. He is a pain to deal with right now. It was good to finally see homer #1 mixed in with his .240 batting average the other night. Thanks for your assistance on mine.

I'd do it. First off, it is a 2 for one. Ianetta should be a better producer than Napoli over the long haul. And Young is no slouch. He is typically sucky at Coors and that bad outing is not enough to make me lose faith in him. The kid is lights out at home and should only get better. Unless people in your league are prone to severe impatience, I can't see anyone better than Young being dropped.

Forgot to mention - 12 teams. And it's a keeper league, with normally smart & patient owners (Young would NOT be considered a keeper). Thanks.

I just don't have that much faith in Young, so I probably wouldn't put in for him. Iannetta on the other hand should come around, and he will be better than Napoli over the course of the year.

So you're saying you'd use the #1 waiver on Iannetta, but not Young?
