Wow, 3 different stores all refused to match the price I'm guessing that there was something wrong with the lower ad or it fell within the exception guidelines

That is my theory too. I could see 1 department manager or store manager refusing to match, but i doubt three managers would all fail to match the price if it fell within the guidelines. Especially considering that one of the stores was willing to match a price that was $200 more.
