Accepted Carlos Lee for Berkman. Good trade?

Postby gOU » Thu Apr 30, 2009 7:59 am

Traded my Berkman, Swisher, Liriano and Rivera for HIS Carlos Lee, Blaylock, Volstad and Lindstrom. Was this a good trade for me based on just the players named?

to fully evaluate a trade we need to know league settings and rosters.

but just judging players and assuming 5x5, i wouldnt have made the deal. berkman and lee are even, but i would prefer rivera and liriano to volstad and lindstrom.

Agree, on the surface, I wouldn't have made the trade either.

good luck

I agree with the others, we really need to see your full roster in order to properly evalaute this deal. However just bases on the players involved I might have gone about things differently. I don't mind Liriano for Volstad and Swisher for Blalock, the issue is Lee for Berkman and Rivera (I assume you mean Mariano,) for Lindstrom. I am wary of Berkman, even though he most likely will start hitting who knows, plus Carlos Lee is one of the most valuable outfielders in baseball. I might have tried to deal a lesser player and acquired Votto, Mourneau or someone along those lines. Mariano for Lindstrom is totally insane, there are only a few players who are "locks," as closers and Mo is one of them, who even knows if Lindstrom will keep his job. Overall this was a pretty shaky deal and I probably would not have done it.
