Frank Francisco for Papi?

Postby Pedros Little Friend » Wed Apr 29, 2009 11:35 pm

Papi is probably in for a down year, and Francisco is entering the upper echelon of closers, but I think I can pick up another potential closer off the waiver wire and I'd be dealing from a strength anyways.

It's a H2H, 10 team. Shallow.

My offense is Sandoval/Mauer, Delgado, Kinsler, Rollins, Blalock/ARod, Kemp, Granderson, Hunter, CB Young, Felipe Lopez (BN)

My pitching is Halladay, Harden, Nolasco, Slowey, Rivera, Broxton, Fuentes, Morrow, Ziegler, Francisco

So Papi would take over UT sending Young to my bench (or I'd drop him for a potential closer). Or not, I obviously have plenty of closers. I like Papi better than pretty much everyone on the WW (Thome, Milledge, Burrell, J Upton, etc.). Is he enough of an upgrade over Young that this is worth it for me? I've won saves every week so far, as you can imagine.

Thanks.

I'm a Francisco owner, but I'd still take the gamble on Papi, no problem. He's gotten a few XBH of late, which is a good sign he can hit for some power. I see Ortiz hitting no more than 30 HR, but again, he still has value and Francisco isn't a big price to pay to find out if he'll perform to expectation or maybe even exceed it.
