Fielder for Pena and Freddy Sanchez

Postby aarongzmn » Wed Apr 29, 2009 9:27 pm

I have Pena and Freddy Sanchez. I would be trading for Prince Fielder. I like Pena but my team is very low in batting AVG. (partly because Beltre and Rollins are on my team) and I think Fielder can hit 15-20 points higher than Pena with the same number of everything else. I picked Freddy Sanchez off the wire so I wouldn't really mind losing him since my 2nd baseman is Utley. What do you guys think?

14 team league with the hitting cats being AVG, HR, RBI, Runs, total bases, OBP and SB. What do you guys think? Should I do it?

Yeah it's hard to help you without your lineup posted. BAsed on value, I think Pena and Fielder will end up with similar numbers. I would hold onto Pena and try to improve AVG a different way. Fielder won't really put you over the edge there.

Help?

If it's a 10 team league (or less) with a 2b, SS, and MI slot then Sanchez shouldn't be owned. That means the trade is basically Fielder for Pena. Pull the trigger while Pena's batting avg is still over .200.

Can you return the favor ? viewtopic.php?t=381869

Based on Pena's lifetime stats, his current binge of HR will even out to about 30 or so this year, while the average will plummet. Fielder could hit 40 HR this year. There are plenty of serviceable MI or 2B players who are having good starts (Hill, Ascrub. Cabrera, etc) who you could plug to fill the avg numbers.
