I am assuming Beimel with be the new WAS closer. Will Grilli be given a shot in COL? Anyone hear anything?

National's brass has said Beimel will be the closer when he comes back from the DL next week.

Being a Tigers fan, it's pretty hard to imagine Grilli EVER getting a shot to close. It will be Street again before it's ever Grilli.

I did not know this. What happened to Hanrahan, thought he was doing well, guess not.


I wouldn't even pay attention to the Rockies closer situation that park is a pitchers nightmare and no closer they put in that situation will hold it easily.

Hanrahan was doing awesome if his job was to give up leads late in games. Here is his line so far ERA 8.64 WHIP 1.68
