i dont know much about baseball but i'm learning. i have a 4team league but decided to play a 12 one also. here's the draft and free agents for h2h 5x5. sorry its a big pic but its full of info in a pic.
edit: a lot of players got taken in the waivers. what should i do?
You have Peralta to play SS. He's solid enough. Dump Aviles, Cabrera, Percival, Theriot, Crisp for Fowler, Franklin, Lowell, and Gallaraga. I think I'd hang onto Price. Trust me you have enough with Derosa at 2b. Lowell/Davis at 3b and that OF. Get rid of these medium important MIDDLE INFIELDERS and go get another quality OF in Fowler, another solid option at 3b in Lowell, a huge closer upgrade while he's going well and a nice shot in the arm to the back end of your pitching rotation (and gives you some depth there). I would then probably try to package Abreu/Rios and Davis for a 3b upgrade (shoot for Longoria or even buy low on Wright!).
Do not drop Bruce. An OF of Abreu, Crawford, Bruce, and Rios is solid enough. If you trade one of your speed/power OF - Fowler can come in and shore up the stats you traded away to upgrade.
You could use another 3b. So adding Lowell is imperative. Gallaraga is also too good to sit on waivers as well. Keep Price stashed, you'll be happy you did. Baker will turn it around, but if your league is idiotic enough to let so many good fAs sit out there, then you could dump him for Wakefield while he's pitching lights out. You'll eventually want to rotate in spot starters at this spot.
I know Theriot has started out hot and Peralta has started out opposite, but they will turn it around. You have enough speed in your OF and can use the power that Peralta will bring.
With you having to leave for the draft, I think you might have to consider just playing the hot hand at thinner fantasy positions. USe your strong OF to net you an upgrade somewhere else. You have a couple of great SP you'll just have to be patient wtih Peavy.
Good luck.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
awesome post! perfect for a newbie like me adding franklin only brings me to a total 3 rp, is that enough? people say to put all RP's in the P spot so they can get as many saves as possible.
some questions: 1. why drop percival if im low on RP? 2. why keep price if hes not even goin to play. is he super pro or something? 3. what positions am I weak in...i dont even know :( 4. should i add bartlett (SS who is doin hot) for one of my other SS? 5. eventually you said i would rotate price's spot. but earlier you said keep him. kinda confused there. 6. keep/drop giambi? add kubel? idk. giambi is only 10% owned
Phil Hughes available? Defiantely some upside there. Beimel is going to be Washington's new closer when he comes back in a week. Downs is a temp closer while BJ Ryan is hurt. Where are the O-Ranks for your positional players? Who are people dropping that you can buy low on that other people have given up on? Aviles would be the first i got rid of.
