I already have a very strong pitching rotation, but Ubaldo Jimenez was dropped a couple of days ago and is coming off of waivers tomorrow morning. I would like to pick him up, despite his horrible start. If I pick him up, I will have to drop one of my pitchers. Here is my pitching roster as of now:
While Young isn't looking much better than Jimenez right now, he's pitching in PETCO vs Coors, which is a sizable advantage.
As much as we can be tantalized by Jimenez' stuff, he's not locating at all right now, and I don't trust him until he can at least put together a couple of halfway-decent outings. I'd hold tight for the time being.
Ok, after starts by Jimenez and Zimmerman last night - I am a little more confused than I was when I originally posted this. I'm not really sure who has the most upside of these two, but I'm not really concerned with keeper potential right now. I want to use this roster spot mainly as a sleeper and 2-start pitcher potential.
Also, Fausto Carmona is available as well. He ranks up there with these two.
We only have 3 reserve spots available and I like to keep those spots filled with SPs to work the matchups. I don't have any position players available to drop.
