Charlie Manuel said that while the dugout was quiet and teammates were concerned immediately after their ace sprained his ankle, x-rays were negative and revealed a “mild sprain” and that Hamels would make his next start. Because of Thursday’s off-day, Hamels has six days before that happens, and he said that would be enough."

good news. he had a promising start besides the injury. looks like the velocity on his fastball is starting to come back.

i believe its 5 2/3's innings the starter has to pitch to be qualified for the win... which i have always thought is dumb because a relief pitcher can pitch 1 out and get the win... but those are the rules.

Wow, I cannot believe after watching baseball all my life and playing fantasy baseball since 1998 that I didn't know there was an innings pitched minimum to qualify for a win. I agree with you that it's a pretty dumb rule for the exact reasons you stated.

ohhhohohohhoohhhh ouch haha... but i mean come on its a little early to say that, missed what 4-5 starts 2 years ago, and didn't miss a one last year, not to mention i think the innings last year took a little tole on him to start the year this year... but with that being said who the hell can't roll their ankle at any time doing something dumb?? my ankles are junk from highschool football and was running from my car to the gas station a few months back, stepped on the side of the curb and tore ligaments in my ankle... i mean thats just a freak type, wouldn't go as far as Harden just yet...
