Josh Hamilton

I'm thinking of making an offer of Jason Bay for Josh Hamilton. Hamilton looks to be headed for the DL. I'm in second with hrs. and the other manger is in next to last. Think I should try this ? He is a Red Sox fan. I am a little affraid that last year was Hamiltons big year and this year is more like what will happen the rest of the season. This is a keeper. Both players can be keeper two more years after this year. I could offer McCouth instead. I also have Dye , Lind, Dukes and Bruce as my other outfielders. Thoughts?

If hamilton is going on the DL why do want him?

He won't be there the whole year. And as I said this is a keeper

I'm thinking of trading my Bay for his Hamilton in my keeper. Bay is currently better. If you look at last year's numbers, Bay was better, minus the RBIs (but look at his walks, and # of at-bats). My thinking is that if Hamilton can put together a full season, perhaps not this year, but next year, and he will be in his prime, we're looking at a top 5 player possibly... It's a risk, but if you have the bats and can afford it, then it seems like a good risk/reward. Hamilton is not a one year wonder - he's consensus #1 pick, young, and Adam Dunn said he's the best baseball player he has ever played with (and he was including A-Rod).
