Drop anyone for Chris Young (AZ)?

Postby Howie » Tue Apr 28, 2009 1:25 pm

He's been pretty bad this year but he did almost go 30-30 two years ago and he's still young. Pun intended. Conor Jackson seems like the one to go, but I'm already projected 66 innings over my max, so maybe I should drop a pitcher. Thoughts?

i'm a no go on Chris Young. he's like Rickie Weeks to me. OBP killer, inconsistent as hell.

don't worry about innings pitched this early that should have nothing to do with decision, you can bench starters sometimes, no?

oops, just saw you had Weeks, sorry about the unintentional dig. you could have the All-Potential team ;-)

Chris young will KILL your avg. if you think you can afford that keep him, but if not you should let him go. Thanks for the help on mine.

I'm not feeling it either, and I agree about not worrying about innings in April. Injuries and blowups will help that iron out, plus you have matchup flexibility. If you decide to drop one, though, I'd say Scherzer.

Keep in mind that Young got most of those stolen bases in 2007 from the leadoff spot. Felipe Lopez has a pretty firm grasp on that now. If the Arizona offense picks up, he should be good for RBIs, but I don't see 30 HRs again and nowhere near that 27 SB number from '07.
