Straight from CBS.

News: The Chicago Tribune reports that White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said that SS Gordon Beckham would not be called up if Chris Getz (finger) is placed on the 15-day DL. "If you see Beckham in the big leagues, we're in trouble," said Guillen.

Analysis: Beckham is hitting .311 in 15 games at Double-A Birmingham. He has two homers and seven RBI. Beckham, one of the best prospects in baseball, is a must-have in long-term keeper leagues, but it's looking less and less likely that he'll be up this season unless the White Sox middle infield gets decimated with injuries.

I was kind of hoping they'd pull Beckham up, but hopefully he's more then a Sept call-up. I could use the upside from the MI spot.

Since Getz wouldn't be expected to be out much longer then the 15 days(if he is even put on the DL) I understand. Now if they aren't telling us something and it requires surgery and days turn into weeks I think Beckham is their best option but I still don't know if they would go with him.

They say that now but there isn't alot of hope for production in CF (Alexei could move there, Beckham to SS) and Getz might or might not be a capable starter at 2B(on top of his finger being broken). If GBeckham is OPSing .850+ he'll force the issue and make a move happen.

I do think it's a good idea to not bring him up if Getz is only going to miss 2 weeks but it seems that a broken finger might take longer than that including the rehab assignment.
