How can I get this deal done? WHIR

Postby gOU » Mon Apr 27, 2009 5:25 pm

Trying to get rid of Berkman, and thinking about trading closers and saying forget saves. With that said, I have 2 rosters below. The 1st is mine, and the 2nd is a likely trade partner. Thinking of offering my Berkman and Rivera for his Roberts and Grienke (or Volstad). Thoughts on trade w/ him or others to involve?
My Roster
C-Buck until Doumit off DL (but is taking up a roster spot)
1B-Berkman
2B-Hudson
SS-Rollins
3B-Huff
IF-Votto
OF-Kemp, Pence, Adam Jones
Util-Victorino
Bench-Teahan, Swisher
P-Liriano, Gallardo, Vazquez, Cueto, A.Sanchez, Kershaw, Kuroda (DL), M.Rivera, Marmol and Wilson

HIS ROSTER
C-B.Molina
1B-Casey Blake
2B-Roberts
SS-Tejada
3B-Jones
IF-Beltre
OF-Seizmore, Lee, Werth
Util-Hart
Bench-Holliday, Cust, Burrell

I would have patience. Liriano and Cueto are better than they've shown. You have a guy in Gallardo who will be an ace by the time the season is done. Greinke is off to a great start but is he really this good? I would try to pry Lackey away from him and buy low instead of buying high on Greinke.

So who would make sense for me to try that deal? Thanks for the advice.

depends on how much the other guy pays attention. if he's impulsive then you may be able to get him to bite on a Swisher and Teahen deal. or offer him Aubrey Huff straight up. Huff had a great year last year but he's inconsistent. Lackey will be good once he comes off the DL.
