He's too fat to run but he can't hit for power either. For a guy that doesn't have power, is sub-par for rbi's, won't steal bases, and won't help your overall batting average much, he is--well...a non-option if you want your team do well.
Bluto: Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL, NO!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
It sounds like Right-Center at Petco is huge (want to say 430 to right-center). This makes it even harder for Burroughs to hit HR's -- the guy has the body to put on 20-25 pounds.
The 20 HR power may never come in that park and given he'll play in 2 other pitcher friendly venues (Dodger Stadium and the Giants Park -- LOL name of it escapes me right at this moment!).
I think this year .300 8 HR 60 RBI 75 Runs is a decent bet for him. He's definitely got the ability to hit .300, but the other stats leave something to be desired from a 3rd baseman.
Hes my #1 sleeper. I project .300 20 HR's 100 Runs, 25 stolen bases. I play him as my 3rd baseman with pride. Plus hes leading off for the Padres now and the manager said he will let him get a lot of steal opprotunities.
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!
He hit 7 hrs and stole 7 sb in over 500 plate appearances and you're predicting 20hr and 25sb's? And how would he get 100rbi's batting leadoff
Good luck with your "strategy" but I'd consider re-thinking it. The only prediction of yours that I think has even a remote chance of happening is that he finishes the year at around .300.

well the guy didn't say 100 RBIS he said 100 runs, which is very reasonable, batting leadoff.
But I don't see Sean batting 20/20. More like 10/10. he may surprise and go 15/10. But a .300 BA is for real.
.300 BA, 100runs, 15 homers, and 10 SB is not bad from the 3B spot. Especially for a guy who isn't even being drafted in a lot of leagues. Its hard to forget he is only 23 I guess

Really? I see that your a Pod's fan, but did you write that with a straight face? 1st of all, I know that you know Petco's dimensions, wrveres, and it's really not any more hitter friendly than Jack Murphy. So projecting that Burroughs is going to more than double his homerun output in 100 more at bats than last year is--shall we say--overly optimistic? And when you tone it down to a more realistic # to expect from him--.295, 10/10, you've got a scrub.
Here are some 3B off the top of my head who will have better years than him
Arod
Rolen
Chavez
Lowell
Glaus
Ramirez
Ensberg
Blalock
D. Young
Bill Mueller
Hillenbrand
Hinske
and probably Koskie and M. Cabrera
With all that talent above him, and much of it available later in the draft, it would be a huge mistake to rely on Burroughs. Even if he met wrveres "optimistic" projection he would be a mediocre fantasy guy.

20 team league 5x5 keeper, initial year. Thought you guys might like to see what the hot corner sold for. As with any initial auction values are dictated by timing, ect so you may see some anomalies.
The auction was conducted before Lowell's elbow struggles.
In reviewing the numbers I think the upper producers went for par. Aramis and Hinske should produce a profits. Glaus could go either way...he seems snake bit lately. Spiezio was purchased late by the only owner that could go 13 with his multi position eligibility and production he should attain a tidy profit. I think Polanco, Koskie and Randa are absolute steals in context to the pack.
This league is comprised of owners from across the US and Canada and will be ultra competitive. That being said there are always "steals" in any auction available to those who wait. Yours truly is the nervous owner of Mike Lowell.
