Is Peavy hurt?

I traded for this guy at the beginning of the year and hes been terrible with the exception of his first couple starts.

He's been GOD AWFUL!!!!!! I traded for him also and he's been nothing but crap so far. I understand having a couple off games or so, but he hasn't been off, he's been TRASH and against some really crappy hitters. I'm really wondering if he isn't having some sort of arm issues because he's exhibiting some uncharacteristicly poor control.

You know the worst part, I heard on MLB network or somewhere some "expert" who said he watched Peavy in spring training, and apparently he added a split or cutter or something, and this guy was like "Wow, this guy is UNHITTABLE now - he's got 5 plus pitches..." blah blah blah - I'd like to find out who that guy is and punch him in the face. I just included Soria in a deal to get him.

Guess who else I got - Matt "7 earned runs in 0.2 IP" Lindstrom.

I'm benching him in my daily H2H league until he puts together two decent starts in a row. He's had a WHIP of 1.67 or more in each of his last three starts and he cost me a win last night...

These people are probably the same people that benched Lincecum after having two bad starts...good grief.

I have used the same strategy since I began playing fantasy baseball and it has always worked. If a pitcher (closer or starter) has three consecutive terrible outings, I bench him until he puts together two good appearances in a row. This strategy works well in daily H2H, as I have been at the top of the standings every year I've played.

I am not, as the last poster implied, giving up on Peavy. I also do not bench players unless they play terribly for an extended period of time. I think he'll come back and do fine. But he's really struggling right now and should be benched until he comes back to form if you have other options...

To each their own...but I don't bench my studs. So what you're basically saying is that you'll get his 3 bad starts...then miss two of his good starts? What if he doesn't get two good starts in a row, i.e. good, average, good, average, etc...you're missing a lot of productivity out of an early round pick.
