J. Zimmermann/M. Wieters trade WHIR

Postby rmenaul » Sun Apr 26, 2009 5:00 pm

I was offered Wieters for my J. Zimmermann... good for me? What's the ETA on Wieters call up lately? His injury isn't serious, but does this set back further? I'm in a 14 team league.

My team:
C: Iannetta
1b: Ryan Howard
2b: Jose Lopez
3b: Aramis Ramirez
SS: Steven Drew (DL) sub: M. Aviles
OF: Beltran
OF: Bay
OF: Ethier
UTIL: Rolen
sub: J Guillen, T Helton

SP: F. Hernandez
SP: Y. Gallardo
RP: J. Nathan
RP:T. Percival
P: M. Lindstrom
P: J. Motte
P: M. Garza
Bench: J. Zimmermann, S. Baker, T. Hanson

Was also wondering if I should drop Helton or Guillen for a FA. Fowler, Justin Upton, JD drew available.
Thanks guys, point me to your posts.

I was going to ask you if it was a keeper or not, but I probably wouldn't do the deal either way. Ianetta is a great young catcher too and, while he may not be quite as good as Wieters (we don't really technically know yet), you'll have Zimmerman along with Chris. I'd stick with what you've got there. As for free agency, I think I drop Helton for Fowler... just not sure Helton belongs on any roster on this point.

really? with catchers sitting 1x/week altleast I figured I could have a few to make up some games already lost once Wieters gets the call. Iannetta has already sat 4 games. "Will Help In Return" As in, point me to your post and I'll return the favor

I completely disagree with the previous posts. I would trade Zim for Wieters anytime. Wieters could be a difference maker for the second half. You have Zim on the bench, Baker should be fine and is a good pitcher, and Hanson has higher upside than Zim. For guys on your bench, I would get rid of Zim if I could net Wieters. If Wieters goes nuts, you could use Ianetta as trade bait.

Just my two cents but I would pull the trigger on this. Any help appreciated
