Rollins for Nelson Cruz and Bartlett?

Postby killahurtz » Sun Apr 26, 2009 11:12 am

Although I have faith that Rollins will eventually turn it around, I really needs some power in my line up. Is Cruz and Bartlett a fair value for Rollins? I already have some speed guys like Kinsler, Kemp, and Bonifacio. Boni can be drop if he doesn't get better.

Maybe Rollins for Longoria? I do have Yunel Escobar on the bench to fill SS.

Don't settle for Cruz' hot start. You should be able to get a player like Manny, Tex, or Beltran for Rollins. You did pick Rollins in the first round, right? Get equal value for him.

I agree, I'd want more than this for Rollins. This would be a typical sell high, buy low trade for the other manager

You're selling Rollins terribly low here. Stay put.

Well, the problem is that no one in their right mind is going to trade Manny or Beltran for Jimmy Rollins now that 2006-2007 have been shown to be outlier years. Rollins is not a first or second round talent. He's a mediocre hitter with some speed hitting at the top of a good lineup.

Geek needs to quit talking all crazy about Rollins. True he's not equal to a Beltran or Manny if u compare them strictly stat to stat, but when u take into consideration position depth, the drop off from Rollins to the next SS all stats considered is huge, where as there are a ton of outfielders to choose from when building ur lineup. All that being said, Rollins will get out of this slump and u will be glad u didn't deal him. Stand pat! U have Yunel Escobar who could play SS... seriously? Is that really a suitable replacement for Jimmy Rollins? Yeah, and I've got Jack Cust to replace Manny. Not trying to be a smartas*, for real though, keep J. Roll and figure out something else. Here's mine, please take a look.

Is Rollins really that much better than Furcal or Jeter? Jhonny Peralta outproduced him last year, as did Alexei Ramirez when he played.

Yes, actually, he's better then all 4 of them and u would be hard pressed to find somebody who didn't agree.

Manny, Tex or Beltran? No way! 8-o

You don't get anywhere near that kind of value for Rollins right now. You have to keep him and hopes he turns it around. IMO you don't even get Cruz, much less Cruz and Bartlett.

Sure, he's better. But not by much.
