Kind of an unheralded player but Mark DiFelice is a deep sleeper for anyone interested. He is that rare over 30 minor leaguer who might be worth a look. He added a very effective cut fastball to his repertoire and suddenly could get out righties. Then he added a change up and suddenly could get out lefties.
In 2006 in AAA he pitched 158 IP of 3.19 ERA. In 2007 in AA/AAA he had 124 IP of 2.31 ERA ball. In 2008 in AAA he pitched 64 IP of 3.22 ERA.
Between 2008/2009 in the majors he has pitched 27 IP with 29 K, 2.33 ERA and 1.07 WHIP before tonight where he went 1.1 IP with 0 ER and 1 H, 0 BB and 2 K. He has pinpoint control and does not walk many and his cut fastball and change up has led to a lot of K. If a Brewer starter gets hurt or Suppan or Parra continue to struggle he could be worth a serious look in deeper leagues.

Maybe he'll close if Hoffman comes back ineffective. Thanks for the look man.

The pecking order for the rotation is McClung and then DiFelice right now but Macha seems to like DiFelice more so maybe he would be the guy to go into the rotation. He is certainly a deep sleeper though, I wouldn't go out and pick him up unless you are in some 20 team league or an NL only, but stick him on your watch list in 14 team leagues and just keep an eye on Suppan and Parra.

Do you think he can keep up a K per inning? I am in a 20 team league that also counts HLDs and I can use whatever K help I can get from some RPs.

I would certainly add him in a HLDs league.
